De-stress at your Desk: Holden Qi Gong

Wednesday, July 23, 12:00-12:45pm

Zoom

Join us for this virtual session to transform stress into relaxation, seated or standing. Qi Gong (pronounced chee gung) is a movement, meditation and breathing practice that originated in China over 4,000 years ago. Qi refers to energy, while gong translates to “skills.” After a brief introduction to the practice, we will do a series of gentle movement exercises, ending with a short meditation so that you can bring fresh energy into the rest of your day.

Presenter: Michelle Heffner Hayes is a Professor of Theatre & Dance at the University of Kansas with over thirty years of experience teaching movement. She holds a Level I teaching certification in Holden Qi Gong.
