On Campus

KU has a beautiful campus, which offers an enjoyable setting for exercise. Explore campus on your own, or contact Recreation Services at recreation@ku.edu for a list of suggested routes and a map for each route.

The Hawk Route is an accessible route between Sunnyside Avenue and Jayhawk Boulevard.


Off Campus

The Lawrence Loop (online map) is a series of connected trails that provide a safe and secure way to experience Lawrence by walking, wheeling or biking.

In addition to the Lawrence Loop, there are a number of suggested walking and biking trails (online map) in Lawrence neighborhoods. The city also provides and maintains bike repair stations in several locations throughout Lawrence.

Unmistakably Lawrence has extensive information on walking, hiking and biking trails in and around Lawrence, along with other outdoor and recreation information.

The KU Field Station maintains a system of five miles of public nature trails at its research site located north/northeast of the Lawrence Municipal Airport, a 15-minute drive from downtown Lawrence.
